Zelenskyy: We hope main subject at Alaska meeting to be ceasefire, after which we will have contact with Trump
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed hope that the ceasefire in Ukraine will be the main subject of conversation between U.S. President Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin during their meeting in Alaska on Friday, and announced negotiations with Trump after this meeting.
"We talked about the meeting in Alaska, we hope that the main subject at the meeting will be a ceasefire, an immediate ceasefire. The President of the United States of America has repeatedly spoken about this. He suggested to me that after the meeting in Alaska, we will have contact with him and we will discuss all the results, if there are any, and we will determine our next mutual steps," Zelenskyy said at a joint press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Berlin on Wednesday.
