Ukrzaliznytsia adds more trains in western direction
JSC Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways - UZ) has added several trains to the western direction in August-October, the company said in a statement on Wednesday, including train No. 284/283 Uzhhorod-Kyiv, which will run every other day from September 1 until the start of the new schedule for 2026.
"The train is connected in Kyiv to high-speed trains in the Kharkiv and Dnipro directions, so it will be useful if there are suddenly no free seats left in the Western direction from Kharkiv or Dnipro on the desired date," UZ said on Telegram.
These additional trains also include No. 159/160 Kyiv - Truskavets departing from Kyiv and Truskavets on September 1, 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 28 and October 3, 4, 5 and No. 218/217 Chop - Lviv departing from Chop and Lviv on September 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29.
In addition, on August 27 and 28, train No. 249/250 Kyiv - Lviv departing from both cities will be added, and separately on August 25, 28, 30, 31, train No. 220/219 Kyiv - Dnipro departing from Kyiv and Dnipro.
The company previously reported that during the period from August 11 to 17, it transported 644,000 passengers, which is 4.8% or almost 30,000 more than during the same period in 2024. The most searches this week were for the directions in both directions "Kyiv-Lviv" – 151,600 requests against 21,800 seats. The direction "Kyiv-Odesa" – 92,300 requests against 19,100 available seats, "Kyiv-Kharkiv" – 69,200 searches and 18,500 thousand seats, "Kyiv-Przemysl" – 65,000 requests against 22,800 available seats and the direction "Kyiv-Dnipro" – 55,000 searches and 16,900.
