TDF Forces Command detects a fake account of Commander Plakhuta
The Communications Department of the Territorial Defense Forces (TDF) Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has said it discovered a fake account that impersonates the account of the Commander of the Territorial Defense Forces, Major General Ihor Plakhuta.
"We warn you: Major General Ihor Plakhuta does not have any accounts on social networks! The fake account has no relation to the Commander or the TDF Command of Ukraine! The fake page is most likely created for disinformation, misleading the public, financial fraud under the pretext of "assisting the army", and may also collect personal data and create informational confusion," the message on the verified TDF Facebook page said on Monday.
All official statements, comments and messages on behalf of the commander will be published exclusively on the Territorial Defense Forces website https://tro.mil.gov.ua/, as well as on the pages of the Territorial Defense Forces Command on social networks: facebook.com/TerritorialDefenseForces; instagram.com/territorial_defense_forces/; x.com/tdf_ua.
"We ask you to be attentive to information security, not to disseminate information from suspicious or unknown sources, and if you detect criminal or fraudulent actions from these pages, contact law enforcement agencies. Report fake accounts to the Meta platform administration. Check the information before sharing it," the statement says.
