Klitschko at Berlin investment forum hopes to raise funds for Kyiv's recovery and development

The goal of the Kyiv Investment Forum, which will start on November 12 and will be held in Berlin for the first time, is to raise funds for the post-war reconstruction and development of the capital, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said.

"After the forums in Brussels in 2022 and 2023, this year the event will be held for the first time in Berlin - a city that symbolizes reconstruction, innovation and partnership. The event will, in particular, discuss investments in infrastructure, the economy and innovative projects in Kyiv. Social entrepreneurship as one of the foundations of reconstruction will also be an important topic," Klitschko said.

He noted that Europe is interested in a successful Ukraine, so this year's investment forum will be held under the slogan "Investing in sustainability. Shaping the future."

"For the ninth time, the Kyiv Investment Forum has brought together leaders to form a common vision of recovery and resilience. From Kyiv to Brussels. And now to Berlin. Our cooperation reflects the resilience and strength of partnership. Together we are stronger and more effective. Europe is interested in a successful Ukraine," Klitschko noted.

The Kyiv Investment Forum was launched by the capital's mayor's office in 2012. Due to the full-scale invasion in 2022-2023, the forum was held in Brussels at the invitation of the mayor of the city, Philippe Clos.

Last year, the total investment package attracted at the investment forum to strengthen the resilience and faster reconstruction of Kyiv amounted to about EUR1.1 billion. Cooperation with the EBRD in the areas of energy security to ensure stable life in the Ukrainian capital was also agreed.
