HACC detains energy sector corruption suspect Myroniuk, sets bail at UAH 126 mln
The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) partially satisfied the SAPO prosecutor's request and chose detention as a preventive measure for Ihor Myroniuk, the former adviser to the Minister of Energy and previous deputy head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine, in the corruption case in the energy sector. The court set an alternative bail of 126 million UAH.
The prosecutors asked the court to take Myroniuk into custody with the possibility of posting a bail of UAH 136.6 million.
The members of the criminal organization called him "Rocket" in internal communication.
On November 11, the HACC announced a break in the hearing after more than 5 hours of consideration. The meeting continued on the morning of November 12.
According to SAPO prosecutor Serhiy Savytsky, as reported, the fact that Myroniuk was an advisor to Haluschenko, "whether openly or not," has been confirmed, including by witnesses. During the November 12 hearing, however, the defense emphasized that the suspect "is not an official" and stated that Myroniuk is suspected of receiving only one illegal benefit, amounting to $53,000.
The SAPO prosecutor stated that, during a search of Myroniuk’s residence, not only a significant amount of money but also 'certain documents" prepared against NABU detectives conducting the pretrial investigation were found.
NABU has been developing Operation Midas since summer 2024.
