Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and France discuss peace efforts, defense cooperation in Paris

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha has met with French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot in Paris to discuss peace efforts and increased support for Kyiv.

"As part of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to France and talks with President Emmanuel Macron, I was pleased to meet with my colleague Jean-Noël Barrot. As always, we had a meaningful and important discussion focused on peace efforts, the Coalition of the Willing, and Ukrainian-French defense cooperation," Sybiha said on X.

According to him, he and Barrot coordinated steps in European affairs, in particular in the context of the issue of effective use of the SAFE mechanism to develop joint projects with Ukraine, further contributions to NATO’s PURL initiative, and a decision on the full use of frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine.

"I am grateful to France for its strong support and leadership - and I look forward to a very successful visit by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy today," the Foreign Minister stressed.
