Dozen+ enterprises involved in Iskander-M production not sanctioned
The Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has published the structure and 49 enterprises of the production cooperation of the Russian ballistic missiles Iskander-M, noting that only 13 of them, in particular, the main executor of state contracts (Design Bureau of Machine Building) and the manufacturer of the missiles (Votkinsky Plant in Udmurtia) are under sanctions, while the others are not.
"The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine's State Administration of Defense in the "Components in Weapons" section of the War&Sanctions portal publishes the structure, list of components and fifty enterprises of cooperation in the production of the 9M723 ballistic missile of the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile complex," the Ministry of Defense's message on the Telegram channel on Wednesday said.
It is reported that the main executor of state contracts for the development and production of 9M723 missiles is the Russian Engineering Design Bureau. The missiles are manufactured at the facilities of the Votkinsk Plant. "Both enterprises have long been under sanctions by most countries of the sanctions coalition, as are most other manufacturers of components of the ballistic Iskander, the Ministry of Defense's message states.
However, 13 of the 49 published enterprises are currently not under sanctions by any country of the sanctions coalition.
The GUR emphasizes that "the weapons that the Russian Federation is using today against Ukraine may in the future be used by it and its allies against other states. In particular, Russia has already helped the DPRK modernize the KN-23/KN-24 ballistic missiles".
Currently, the "Components in Weapons" section of the "War&Sanctions" portal already contains: 5,200+ foreign components identified in 181 samples of weapons used by Russia; 12 interactive diagrams of Russian and Iranian weapons; 280+ enterprises involved in their production.
