Zelenskyy: Russia attacks Ukraine with more than 650 drones, 3 dozen missiles and over three dozen missiles

Russia has launched a massive Russian strike on Ukraine, primarily on energy and civilian infrastructure, using more than 650 drones and more than three dozen missiles, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Tuesday morning.

"As of now, air alert is maintained in most of Ukraine. However, all necessary services have been involved to eliminate the consequences of the strike. Unfortunately, there are losses. A woman died in the Kyiv region from a Russian drone strike. A person is known to have died in the Khmelnytskyi region. A four-year-old child died in the Zhytomyr region - a Russian drone hit a residential building. My condolences to his family and friends," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

The president noted that at least 13 regions of the country have already been hit.

"In general, at least 13 regions have already been hit. A significant part of the drones and missiles were shot down. Detailed information from the Air Force will be available later - when all the reports are received. However, there were also hits. Repair crews, energy specialists are already working to ensure the normal life of people, our cities and communities," he stressed.

According to Zelenskyy, such a strike on the eve of the holidays means that the world is not putting enough pressure on Russia to achieve peace.

"This Russian strike is an extremely clear signal of Russian priorities. A strike before Christmas, when people want to be with their families, at home, in safety. A strike in fact in the midst of negotiations that are underway to end this war. Putin cannot accept the fact that we must stop killing. And this means that the world is not putting enough pressure on Russia. We must react now. We must press Russia towards peace and guaranteed security. We must not forget that every day - both on weekdays and on holidays - Ukraine protects people's lives. Air defense for Ukraine, financing for the purchase of weapons, the supply of energy equipment - all these are processes that do not go on weekends. We must be committed to protecting life in order to finally achieve peace," the president said.

The head of the Ukrainian state thanked everyone who helps Ukraine. "I thank every leader, every politician who will not remain silent today and condemn Russia for what it has done," Zelenskyy added.
