Resilience Centers project planned to be expanded by 2026 – Muzychenko
Director General of the Fund for Social Protection of Persons with Disabilities Vitaliy Muzychenko says that it is planned to significantly expand the Resilience Centers project by 2026.
"This year, the total was about UAH 360 million. On a state scale, this is a fairly small amount for 300 deployment points. Next year, the task is to significantly expand the program, which could mean doubling or even tripling the number of participants. The budget for next year includes funds for this," said Muzychenko in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine when asked how much it costs the state per year to support the Resilience Centers.
Muzychenko said that, by the end of 2025, some 306 Resilience Centers were operating in Ukraine. The pilot program was extended for six months, until June 2026, to establish the standard for the corresponding service more clearly.
"It is important here not to measure performance indicators by quantity, but rather to understand certain qualitative indicators of impact. Therefore, we are currently re-contracting with previous providers with whom there were no issues in terms of interaction. There are also changes to the pilot's configurations to more actively include communities and local governments. Everything mostly worked well, but in some cases, the community took the position that the state was acting on its territory. This is fundamentally wrong because it is a community project with financial support from the state. Therefore, our priority task now is to include local governments in the project agreement," said the head of the Fund.
In September, the Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity, Denys Uliutin, announced that the state plans to allocate UAH 1 billion for Resilience Centers in 2026.
