European Solidarity initiates halt to UAH 109 mln tender for telethon channels to redirect funds to Ukrainian Armed Forces

The European Solidarity party in Ukraine has spoken out against holding tenders worth UAH 109 million through the end of 2025 for television channels of the national telethon.

"We demand the immediate suspension of the so-called tenders worth UAH 109 million announced for the production of TV content for the telethon. We call for these funds to be redirected to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, together with UAH 300 million that has not yet been used to finance the telethon," the statement published on the party's website on Tuesday said.

European Solidarity is also demanding an urgent meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Culture to decide on the future fate of the telethon, which the party believes does not meet the needs of a country at war.

"European Solidarity has registered amendments to the 2026 budget. We demand that UAH 100 billion be redirected to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including at the expense of the telethon and billions allocated for so-called strategic communications," the statement said.
