SPAR opens renovates store at Kyiv's Central Railway Station
The SPAR supermarket chain has opened a renovated store at Kyiv's Central Railway Station (1 Vokzalna Square), the company's press service reported.
According to the press release, the store is located in the fourth ticket hall of the Central Station and features an expanded retail area of up to 142 square meters, with the sales space designed to meet inclusive accessibility requirements. New offerings at the supermarket now include hot ready-to-eat food, coffee, snacks, fast food and similar items. Four checkout points operate in the store: two Food to Go (FTG) checkouts for quick purchases and coffee to go, and two self-checkout terminals.
The Dutch franchising chain SPAR is one of the world's largest supermarket and hypermarket networks. It operates four retail formats: SPAR Express (convenience stores with sales areas of up to 200 sq m), SPAR (supermarkets of 200–800 sq m), Eurospar (supermarkets of 800–3,000 sq m), and Interspar (hypermarkets exceeding 3,000 sq m).
According to website data, SPAR International operates more than 13,800 stores in 48 countries, and in 2022 its overall turnover increased by 5.6% to EUR 43.5 billion.
In Ukraine, SPAR has been developing since 2017 as one of the business areas of the VolVest investment group. As of the end of August 2025, the chain numbered 117 supermarkets in the country.
