The head of the Special Operations Center (SOC) "A" of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Yevhen Khmara will temporarily act as the head of the special service, presidential communications adviser Dmytro Lytvyn has said.

"Khmara will be acting (SBU head)," Lytvyn told reporters on Monday.

As reported, Zelenskyy suggested that the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Maliuk, focus on combat work in the structure of the special service and offered him a corresponding position, and also discussed with him the candidates for the new head of the agency. "I thanked him for his combat work and suggested focusing on this type of work. There should be more Ukrainian asymmetric operations against the occupier and the Russian state, more of our strong results in destroying the enemy. Vasyl Vasylovich knows this best and will continue to do this in the SBU system. I instructed Vasyl Malyuk to make our asymmetric operations the strongest in the world," the president wrote following the meeting.

Zelenskyy reported that he had met with the head of the Central Operational Command "A" of the SBU, Yevhen Khmara. "We will scale up the experience of Ukrainian special forces and the Central Operational Command 'A' of the SBU. Today, we also discussed with Yevhen other possibilities for the systemic development of the Security Service of Ukraine and special operations that we are currently preparing," Zelenskyy said on Telegram following the meeting.
