The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) aid point has over the weekend operated at the site of emergency and rescue operations in the center of Kharkiv after Russian ballistic missile strikes.

"Emergency and rescue operations have been ongoing for more than 24 hours... The Ukrainian Red Cross aid point continues to operate at the site, where local residents and representatives of Kharkiv's special services can drink water, tea or coffee, and receive psychological support and first aid if necessary," the URCS said on Facebook on Saturday.

URCS volunteers are providing people with humanitarian aid, including OSB boards, tarpaulins, film, drinking water, hygiene kits, blankets, and emergency kits.

As reported, the URCS rapid response unit in the Kharkiv region participated in the rescue operation from the first hours after the Russian attack. Volunteers provided necessary assistance to the victims. Dog handlers were involved in the search operations.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched two Iskander missiles at a residential area in Kharkiv on the afternoon of January 2. The attack killed two people, including a three-year-old boy. A commercial and office building and part of the adjacent entrance to a 4-story apartment building were destroyed.
