NATO Secretary General: Russian attacks like tonight demonstrate Russia's lack of seriousness about peace
Ukraine is serious about making progress towards peace, while Russia continues its attacks and demonstrates its lack of seriousness about the peace process, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said during a speech in Kyiv at the opening of the 15th session of the Verkhovna Rada.
"...important progress has been made (on the path to peace - IF-U), but Russia continues to attack. Like this shelling last night, and this demonstrates their lack of seriousness about peace," he said during a speech broadcast and translated into Ukrainian by the Rada TV channel.
The NATO Secretary General emphasized the huge losses of the Russian Federation in the war against Ukraine, which amounted to more than 1 million people.
"There are already more than a million victims on their side. And despite Putin's willingness to make sacrifices, any achievements on the battlefield are very painful for them," he said.
