During the two days of the war, Russian troops lost, in addition to 14 aircraft of various types and eight helicopters, hundreds of pieces of other equipment, said Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant-General Mykola Oleschuk.

"In total, over the two days of the war, the Russian occupation forces lost 14 aircraft of various types, eight helicopters, 102 tanks, 536 armored combat vehicles, 15 guns, BUK-M1 air defense systems, dozens of unmanned aerial systems," Oleschuk said in a statement published on the page of the Verkhovna Rada on Telegram on Saturday.

He noted that the Russian troops are waging a vile offensive war of conquest on our native land, using long-range ballistic missiles, operational-tactical systems and operational-tactical aviation against the Armed Forces and civilians.

"From the first minutes of Russia's large-scale attack, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was the first to take on massive missile strikes by the occupying forces. After all, the enemy's primary goal was to destroy the objects of the state's air defense system. But we resisted, withstood the enemy's attacks! Our air defense forces demonstrate real military skill, destroying modern aircraft and helicopters of the enemy, shooting down cruise missiles in the sky. And these are tens, hundreds of saved lives!" Oleschuk emphasized.

According to him, every hour the Air Force inflicts crushing losses on the enemy.
