Shmyhal invites Lithuania to join initiative to purchase weapons, military equipment from Ukrainian manufacturers
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal met with Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė on Saturday and invited Lithuania to join the initiative to purchase Ukrainian weapons and military equipment from Ukrainian manufacturers.
As reported by the Cabinet of Ministers press service, Shmyhal thanked his colleague "for consistent support and provision of various types of assistance, in particular in the energy sector." "Lithuanian manufacturers are ready to provide assistance in the form of generators and solar panels. We also highly appreciate Lithuania's participation in various international coalitions in support of Ukraine," the Ukrainian prime minister said.
He emphasized interest "in creating joint innovative production facilities in Ukraine that will work for the Armed Forces." Shmyhal separately noted that strengthening air defense remains a priority for our state.
Lithuania will continue to be "our close and reliable partner in the fight for independence and justice," the Ukrainian Prime Minister noted.
