Zelenskyy, Finnish President Stubb discuss need to strengthen Ukrainian air defense
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed with Finnish President Alexander Stubb on Friday the consequences of Russia's morning massive attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure and the need to provide Ukraine with real and effective security guarantees to achieve stability and long-term peace.
"We discussed the consequences of Russia's morning massive attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, which once again demonstrated the urgent need to strengthen Ukraine's air defense capability," Zelenskyy said in his Telegram.
Zelenskyy thanked Stubb for his principled and unwavering support for the independence of Ukraine and our people. "I separately thanked Finland for its readiness to strengthen our air defense capabilities," the president said.
"It is important for us that Finland strongly supports Ukraine's sovereign right to choose its own future without external interference, in particular our choice regarding joining the EU and NATO," Zelenskyy said. The leaders of the countries agreed on the need to provide Ukraine with real and effective security guarantees to achieve stability and long-term peace.
