Over 800 MSEC decisions on officials’ disability canceled - SBI director
According to the results of the inspections, more than 800 decisions of medical and social expert commissions (MSEC) on granting disability to officials have been canceled, and 2,630 medical files of officials from more than 70 state bodies are currently being checked, the Director of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) Oleksiy Sukhachev has told Interfax-Ukraine.
"On the initiative of the SBI, based on the results of the inspections, more than 800 MSEC decisions on granting disability to law enforcement officers and employees of state bodies have already been canceled," Sukhachev noted.
According to him, more than 70 state bodies and 2,630 medical files of officials are currently being checked.
"Almost 2,000 cases have already been considered. Of these, more than 800 decisions were canceled as unfounded, in more than 400 cases the group or term of disability was changed. Almost 100 officials were summoned for additional examination," he said.
Sukhachev recalled that the inspections are carried out within the framework of criminal proceedings and in accordance with the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of October 22, 2024, put into effect by the Presidential Decree.
"For this purpose, an interdepartmental working group was created from among employees of the State Bureau of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and other law enforcement agencies, which approved an action plan in November last year," said Sukhachev.
The SBI director emphasized that usually the registration of fictitious disability was carried out in order to receive an appropriate pension, as well as to avoid possible conscription into military service.
"The largest number of officials whose disability has been canceled is among employees of the State Customs and Tax Service, the Prosecutor's Office, and law enforcement agencies," he noted.
"The work continues," Sukhachev added.
