HACC arrests in absentia former MP Ivaniuschenko, suspected of land deals

The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) arrested in absentia a former MP from the Party of Regions, suspected of organizing the legalization of property obtained by criminal means, namely nine land plots with a total area of 18 hectares.
"On October 14, 2025, an investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC), at the request of detectives from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and with the approval of a prosecutor from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), imposed a preventive measure in the form of detention on a former Member of Parliament from the Party of Regions, who is suspected of organizing the legalization of property obtained through criminal means – specifically, nine land plots with a total area of 18 hectares," the SAPO reported on its Telegram channel on Tuesday.
The SAPO’s statement did not mention the suspect’s name, but based on the details of the case, it is believed to refer to Yuriy Ivaniuschenko.
As part of the pretrial investigation, it was established that in the spring of 2021, during a corporate conflict between the former MP and a developer over control of a wholesale agricultural market located in the Kyiv suburbs, the entrepreneur intended to transfer the market’s assets to legal and natural persons under her control.
"After carrying out a series of actions aimed at leasing the land to a controlled company, these plots were sold on the basis of sham transactions to three companies associated with the developer," the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office reported.
According to the statement, during the resolution of the conflict, the developer and the former MP signed a settlement agreement regarding the joint use of the land plots, including for development purposes.
In September 2021, a trusted representative of the former MP became one of the beneficiaries of the companies that owned the land plots.
"After the suspect is detained and brought to the pretrial investigation location, the investigating judge will decide on the application of this preventive measure," the SAPO clarified.
As previously reported, NABU has placed former Member of Parliament from the Party of Regions, Yuriy Ivaniuschenko, on the wanted list on suspicion of legalizing 18 hectares of state land valued at over UAH 160 million.
