European Solidarity continues to block Rada rostrum; session put on pause

The European Solidarity faction continued to block the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada.

According to an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent, after representatives of the factions spoke at the plenary session on Tuesday, the European Solidarity faction blocked the parliamentary rostrum.

After asking the leader of the political party, Petro Poroshenko, whether European Solidarity was blocking the rostrum, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk said: "Dear colleagues, I inform you that today [on the agenda] we had a number of very important laws ... Including issues related to the translation of the Convention [the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages], which required the removal of the Russian language. Today, the faction you see is blocking consideration of this law ... I am forced to declare a recess in our plenary session."

As reported, European Solidarity blocked the rostrum on November 18 and November 19, after which Stefanchuk announced a break in the plenary session and announced consultations regarding the situation that had developed in the legislative body following the release by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) of recordings of corruption at JSC NNEGC Energoatom.

European Solidarity demands the dissolution of the current coalition and the resignation of Yulia Svyrydenko’s government.
