Zaluzhny's resignation caused by need for reboot – Zelenskyy
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy explained the resignation of commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny by the need for a "reboot."
"Such a reboot of the office of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces was very necessary for us. We are not talking about some kind of reset in the direction of our actions. We're just saying that some things haven't changed lately," he said in an interview with FOX News published on Friday.
"We have to be faster. It means giving up all the bureaucracy that we have. Otherwise, we won't have any chance. To be smarter, more technologically advanced, and, of course, faster," the President said.
At the same time, he explained the awarding of the title of Hero of Ukraine to Zaluzhny by the fact that he "defended the country." "He defended our people, our country. That's why I awarded him the title of Hero of Ukraine. I am very grateful to him," Zelenskyy said.
