Zelenskyy rebukes partners: So far only Belarus has distinguished itself in shooting down Russian Shaheds

The allies shoot down missiles and drones together in the sky over the Middle East, but there is still no similar decision on joint destruction of Russian missiles and Shahed drones in the Ukrainian sky, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said on Friday.

"When we hear that new missiles have arrived to Russia from Iran, that is exactly the same evil that the allies have already had to shoot down in the sky over the Middle East. Now, maybe, the missile brand is different, but not Iran's terrorist motive which stands behind the proliferation and use of this weapon. If the allies shoot down missiles and shoot down drones in the sky over the Middle East together, then why is there still no similar decision on joint destruction of Russian missiles and Iranian Shaheds in the Ukrainian sky?" he said at the 20th meeting of the Yalta European Strategy (YES).

The head of state stressed that the decision on shooting down Russian missiles and drones together was not made even after the latter literally entered the territories of Ukraine's neighbors.

"And when we raise this issue with our partners, by the way this happens constantly, to be honest, everyone try to simply avoid it. They are even afraid to say that we are working on this. They are even afraid of words," Zelenskyy said.

He emphasized that "so far only Belarus has distinguished itself in shooting down Russian Shaheds," adding that he never "thought that would gain such a format."

"Such a shame for a strong democratic worlds," Zelenskyy said.
