Former head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance, member of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Viatrovych (the European Solidarity faction) criticized the initiative of Polish President Karol Nawrocki to equate the "Bandera symbol" with Nazi and communist symbols.

"Bandera's ideology is three key theses: 1. You will gain a Ukrainian state, or you will die fighting for it. 2. Freedom for the people! Freedom for the individual! 3. Reliance on one's own strength. Nawrocki sees similarities with Nazism in this. And I see similarities in his vision with Putin's vision, who calls the destruction of everything Ukrainian denazification," Viatrovych wrote on Facebook.

Earlier, Polish media reported that Polish President Karol Nawrocki announced a legislative initiative on Monday that would equate the "Bandera symbol" with Nazi and communist symbols in the Polish Criminal Code.
