North Atlantic Council meets, followed by NATO defense chiefs session
On Wednesday, following the summit in Washington on the settlement of the war in Ukraine, a meeting of the North Atlantic Council was held, and a roundtable of the heads of defense departments of NATO member states will also be held today, Alliance spokeswoman Allison Hart said.
"In continuation of the meetings held in Washington on ending the war against Ukraine, a meeting of the North Atlantic Council was held this morning, and this afternoon the heads of defense departments of NATO member states will gather for a roundtable," Hart said on X on Wednesday.
The results of the North Atlantic Council meeting have not yet been reported.
According to the British The Guardian, NATO military leaders are meeting virtually today at 3:30 p.m. Kyiv time to "discuss the latest developments in Ukraine, including possible security guarantees that could be provided in the event of a peace agreement," but the details of the meeting are not being disclosed.
On Tuesday evening, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Kaine reportedly held talks with European military leaders on "the best options for a potential peace deal in Ukraine."
